How can kids, the youth and the elderly benefit from better knowledge about smart cities? How can they benefit from contributing to smart cities services by using smart devices? How does MARVEL help in improving their quality of life?
It is without a doubt that current technologies can greatly aid the process of monitoring and ensuring the health and safety of citizens, especially when seamlessly integrated within the context of smart cities.
The first plenary meeting of MARVEL after its kick-off took place on June 17-18, 2021 with 30 participants from the 17 organisations of the consortium.
The purpose of the meeting was to receive the Ethics Advisory Board's feedback and guidance on relevant privacy, security and ethical issues within the project.
MARVEL is a HORIZON 2020 funded project and as such is financed by EU citizens. Therefore, it aims to benefit to the largest number of citizens possible and the fruits of our research to reach society as a whole. In order to achieve this, ZELUS, as the Dissemination Manager of the project and Work Package 7 Leader, is closely collaborating with the consortium partners to devise and implement a strategy to approach as many potential users as possible.
The Living-in.eu initiative for boosting sustainable digital transformation in cities and communities in the EU was introduced in 2019. Supported by the European Commission and the European Committee of the Regions, it is a platform to cope with the aforementioned challenges and utilizing digital solutions to make the cities climate neutral and work together on societal challenges in a ‘European Way’.
The MARVEL project on Multimodal Extreme Scale Data Analytics for Smart Cities environments was virtually kicked off on January 18-19, 2021 with 50 participants from 17 organisations, numerous presentations, discussions, questions and exciting ideas!
